The Pageant

Mr. India Manhunt International Pageant is brought to India by the National Director Bir Kaur Dhillon along with MIBQ and The Rock. Manhunt International is organised to promote new faces for the male modelling and fashion industry. They also become role models and good corporate citizens for younger people to look up to. The winner of the pageant will represent the country at Mr. Manhunt International 2016, to be held in May 2016, where men from all across the globe will compete for the coveted title.

History

Mr India Manhunt International is a part of Manhunt International, an international male beauty pageant which was started by Alex Liu, pageant director of Exclusive Resources Marketing Pvt Ltd in 1993.

The pageant saw one of its most successful years in November 1995 when 35 contestants came to Sentosa Island, Singapore, to compete for the prestigious title. The cash award and prizes for 1995’s winner alone exceeded $90,000.

The last edition of the competition was held in 2012 and now it is back in May 2016 bigger and better.

In India the franchise was earlier with Gladrags Media. Following are names of some of the contestants that represented India:-

Rajat Bedi (1994), Dino Moreo (1995), Zulfi Syed (1996-97),John Abraham (1999), Rajeev Singh (2001), Muzamil Ibrahim (2003) to name a few.

Competition

The Mr. India Manhunt competition will have online auditions to select the best candidates. From these auditions the finalists will meet for a four day National pageant to be held in April,2016 where they compete for the tittle of Mr. India. The Winner will represent India at the world finals of ‘Mr. Manhunt International ‘to be held in Shenzhen, China on May2016.

The pageant will be staged in two rounds, preliminary and final. During the preliminary round, the contestants are to be judged in regional costumes, swimwear, evening wear and fashion wear. The contestants with highest scores are named as finalists, from which the judges determine the winner and the runners up.

Contestants will be judged on the following :

CATWALK AND RUNWAY SKILLS : where they display their ability to carry clothes they wear on stage, their style, their stage presence and self-confidence.

PHOTOGENIC ABILITY : where they present themselves in front of top photographers and pose for cameras. They should be agile, versatile and comfortable in front of the lens man. They should able to project their personality in front of the cameras for magazine’s fashion pages and press advertisements.

PHYSICAL AND PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES : In which they should project health lifestyle, youthfulness and vitality. They should have a well-proportioned body. We are not in search of body builder physique or muscle man. A lean, well toned body and healthy looking body is what we look for.

PERSONALITY : They should have an excellent personality with positive attitudes, polite, good communication skills and friendly in nature. As all Mr. India Manhunt International winners will also become good role models and ambassadors of their countries and for Manhunt International.

During the pageant final, several other awards will be given beside the ultimate title of Mr. India Manhunt International: Best in Costume, Best Runway Model, Mister Photogenic, Mister Friendship, Mister Personality, Mister Physique and Mister Popularity (voted by the public via internet) and more.
